Our weekly trips to the ranch and our relationships with both horses and the people and have become part of our regular routine, an oasis from the medical world of treatments, doctors, tests, and hospitals and cancer. Cancer disrupted our lives in so many ways, and El Dustberry has given us a comforting and safe place to weather the storm and begin to put the pieces back together.

"Learning and healing through horses and nature"

Our Philosophy:

El Dustberry is unique and very successful in offering a variety of programs interwoven by common threads: self confidence, self-esteem and self-awareness increase as participants are motivated to set goals and then attain them. An "I can do anything!" attitude prevails at our ranch, as students and guests rekindle excitement, conquer old fears, and are challenged by new experiences which enable them to create and pursue their dreams with new hope. Our participants' successes transfer to the rest of their lives by increasing motivation, self-respect and respect for others. Our
goal is for our students and guests to feel needed and important, and that they make a tremendous difference. This feeling might be achieved through helping someone else, teaching or being a part of something wonderful that is bigger than themselves. We engage in

effective socialization and cooperative learning activities in which students emerge as positive leaders and role models. Participants love being a part of the ranch because we strive to bring out the best in each person.

What We Do and How We Do It, Makes Us Unique!
Through interactions with our horses and nature in all of our programs, we teach key principles of life, such as the power of sharing, tolerance, respect, appreciation, cause and effect, and that each of us makes a powerful difference. All of our programs are infused with these concepts and promote healing and learning in a unique way.

We Rehabilitate Horses.
Our “rescue” horses have healed under our care, and are the foundation of all of our programs. Each horse has a history and a story to tell that serves as teaching tools in our programs.
